Grotto des Fées (Tréal)

The Allée couverte de la Grotte des Fées of Tréal (also called Rocher de Tréal) is located at the top of a hill near Saint Just in the Ille-et-Vilaine department in Brittany in France .

Not to be confused with the "Allée couverte de la Grotte de Sarou" (also called "Grotte des Fées" or Dolmen of Cournols) which is located in the Puy-de-Dôme (63) department in Auvergne .

The restored Allée couverte with lateral access ( French Sepultre à entree laterale ; in the style of northern European passage graves , which are very rare in France) consists of the approximately 13.0 m long chamber that is approximately 1.2 m wide. The entrance, consisting of a pair of stones placed on the side, is on the south side near the east end. There are nine preserved capstones (about four missing) and 29 preserved bearing stones (two missing) that get larger towards the western end. The stones are made from local slate .

The Grotte des Fées is part of the Parc des Megalithes de Saint-Just .
