The Eisernhardt mine is an iron ore mine between Biersdorf and Schutzbach in the Altenkirchen district in Rhineland-Palatinate .

The pit was muted on April 25, 1857 . Iron ore was mined through the Falkenberger deep tunnel . Later was machines shaft (blind) 180 m drilled . Four civil engineering levels were laid. A blind shaft was sunk from the fourth to the sixth level. The pit reached a total depth of 275 m.

In 1916 the mine came to the Bochum Association for Mining & Cast Steel Production . The annual production was up to 20,000 t, between 1919 and 1925 72,390 t of Spateisenstein were produced . In 1918 only 176 miners worked in the mine, in 1922 there were already 280 people. On March 31, 1923, the promotion was temporarily stopped. In 1925 the mine was completely shut down.

Consolidations

The Käusersteimel mine, which was closed in 1901, was part of the mine .

The Gruene Aue mine near Schutzbach was closed in 1912 with a total extraction of 26,838 t of iron ore. The mining was carried out from a depth of up to 164.5 m. Zinc blende and nickel ore were also funded in small quantities.
