Overburden dump of the mine in Schindelbachtal
The mine was an iron mine near Sechshelden ( Haiger municipality ) in the Lahn-Dill district . The pit was between Sechshelden and Haiger in a wooded area in the upper Schindelbachtal south State Street 277. Removed was about 1804-1806 iron .
The main tunnel was probably less than 100 m long (source: map showing the tunnel). Today the overburden dump of the pit and the presumed location of the buried tunnel mouth hole can still be seen.
