The Gotthardt mine is a former non-ferrous metal ore mine in the Bensberg ore district in Overath . It was south of the village of Hufenstuhl in Vilkerath .

history

A suspicion of the Altenberg society on blende , lead ore and copper ore near Hufenstuhl in the communities of Balken and Vilkerath is dated February 21, 1868. A field inspection followed on March 31, 1868. On April 28, 1868 a final meeting also took place for the Petersberg mine fields and Rosalinde instead. At a subsequent hearing on May 25, 1868, it was determined that the Gotthardt and Rosalinde mines would only be lent for lead and zinc ore, while the Petersberg mine in this area would be lent for copper ore. Accordingly, the Gotthardt mine was awarded on May 28, 1868 for lead and zinc ores to the anonymous society of zinc mines and smelters of the Altenberg in Liège . The find was in a sieve south of the village of Hufenstuhl. Nothing is known about operational activities.
