The request for encouragement for the Petersberg mine was dated February 21, 1868 by the Altenberg Society . The final meeting was held on April 28, 1868, at which the building worthiness of the mine field was confirmed. There followed on May 29, 1868, the ceremony on galena and sphalerite . The point of discovery was between Griesbalken and Kotten in the so-called Balkensiefen. In the files, the pit is listed under both “built corridors and “non-built corridors” .
