John Rea (born December 5, 1951 ) is a Scottish snooker player .
Rea reached the peak of his career in 1989 when he defeated Murdo MacLeod in the Scottish Professional Championship and was thus Scottish champion.
On February 18, 1989, he became the seventh player ever to score a maximum break in an official game (against Ian Black in the 1989 Scottish Professional Championship ). He was also the first Scot who managed a maximum break.
He is the owner of the Lucky Break Snooker Club in Clydebank, with which he also sponsors a local sports club.
