The tunnel mouth

The Zwischenfeld mine was an iron ore mine on the Eisenberg near Windeck - Öttershagen . The tunnel was driven 34.3 m into the mountain in the 18th century until the vein became cloudy . In some cases, explosives were also used. In the 1860s, the tunnel mouth was closed by blasting.

The reconstructed tunnel mouth hole with the German door frame is part of the mining hiking trail at the Silberhardt mine .
