The Embassy of the Republic of Turkey Abuja ( T ürkiye C umhuriyeti Abuja Büyükelçiliği or T . C . Abuja Büyükelçiliği) is the highest diplomatic representation of the Republic of Turkey in Nigeria . Ali Rifat Köksal has been the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in the embassy building since 2010 .

The first Turkish embassy in Nigeria was opened in Lagos on August 30, 1962. After the capital was moved to Abuja, a contact office opened there on September 1, 1999. In 2001 the Lagos embassy was closed and relocated to Abuja. In addition to Nigeria, the Abuja embassy is also accredited for Niger . The embassy is also the permanent representation of the Republic of Turkey to the West African Economic Community .
