The Turkish Embassy North Nicosia ( officially : Embassy of the Republic of Turkey North Nicosia; T ürkiye C umhuriyeti Lefkoşa Büyükelçiliği or T . C . Lefkoşa Büyükelçiliği) is the highest diplomatic representation of the Republic of Turkey in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus . Derya Kanbay has been the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in the embassy building since 2015 .
Until 1978, the embassy was about 100 meters from what is now the Ledra Palace border crossing . Since 1978 the embassy has been in a building opposite the Assembly of the Republic on an area of about 8.5 hectares.
