Turkish Embassy Athens
The Turkish Embassy in Athens ( officially : Embassy of the Republic of Turkey Athens; T ürkiye C umhuriyeti Atina Büyükelçiliği or T . C . Atina Büyükelçiliği) is the highest diplomatic representation of the Republic of Turkey in Greece . Kerim Uras has been the ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in the embassy building since 2012 .
The Ottoman Empire sent its first ambassador to Athens in 1840. Due to the First World War and the Turkish Liberation War , diplomatic relations between July 1, 1917 and January 11, 1924 were suspended.
