Turkish Embassy Buenos Aires
The Turkish Embassy in Buenos Aires ( officially : Embassy of the Republic of Turkey Buenos Aires; T ürkiye C umhuriyeti Buenos Aires Büyükelçiliği or T . C . Buenos Aires Büyükelçiliği) is the highest diplomatic representation of the Republic of Turkey in Argentina . Metin Hüsrev Ünler has been the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in the embassy building since January 10, 2010 .
The Ottoman Empire and Argentina upgraded their bilateral relationship in 1910 with a treaty signed in Rome. In the same year, a consulate general was opened in Buenos Aires that was active until the outbreak of the First World War. Diplomatic relations with Argentina were resumed with a friendship treaty signed in 1926 and entered into force in 1935. The Buenos Aires embassy opened in 1936.
