Grzegorz Dolniak

Grzegorz Maciej Dolniak (born February 17, 1960 in Będzin , † April 10, 2010 in Smolensk , Russia ) was a Polish politician ( Platforma Obywatelska ).

Since September 23, 2001 he was a member of the Platforma Obywatelska party in the Sejm . He was elected from the constituency 32 Sosnowiec with 5,796 and 12,151 votes . He died on April 10, 2010 in a plane crash near Smolensk , when he - together with President Lech Kaczyński - was on the way to an event to commemorate the Katyn massacre . Dolniak left a wife.

Posthumously , Dolniak was awarded the Commander's Cross of the Order Polonia Restituta (Krzyż Komandorski Orderu Odrodzenia Polski) on April 16, 2010 .
