Guðlaugur Arnarsson (born October 7, 1978 in Reykjavík ) is a former Icelandic handball player who currently works as a handball coach.

Guðlaugur Arnarsson made his debut for Fram Reykjavík in the Icelandic first division. In 2005 he moved to AC Fylkir Reykjavík. Arnarsson was the captain there and led his team to third place in the championship in the 2006 season. After the end of the Icelandic season, the backcourt player was loaned out in October 2006 by Alfreð Gíslason , coach of the German VfL Gummersbach and Icelandic national coach, to replace the injured Sverre Andreas Jakobsson . There he helped out in the championship and EHF Champions League until January 2007 . After half a year in Reykjavík, he joined the Swedish first division club HK Malmö in summer 2007, where he stayed for a year before signing in 2008 with the Danish first division club FCK Håndbold . In the summer of 2009 he joined the Icelandic first division club KA Akureyri . After the 2011/12 season he ended his career with Akureyri, but made a brief comeback there from November to December 2012.

Guðlaugur Arnarsson has played three games for the Icelandic national team in his career .

Already during his active career Guðlaugur Arnarsson coached the women's team from KA / Þór. He ended this coaching activity in May 2012. In the summer of 2013, he took the coaching position of the men's team of Fram Reykjavík.
