The Guangzhou University City Stadium ( Chinese 广州大学城体育中心 ) or Guangzhou University Town Central Stadium is a rugby - and football stadium with athletics track in the Chinese city of Guangzhou , province of Guangdong . It is mostly used for soccer , but also for athletics , rugby union and rugby 7 .
The 7-a-side rugby and soccer competitions of the 2010 Asian Games were held here. The sports facility offers 39,346 seats, making it the third largest stadium in Guangzhou after the Guangdong Olympic Stadium and the Tianhe Stadium .
