Gudrun Endress

Gudrun Endress (* 22. May 1941 in Stuttgart ) is a German jazz - journalist .

Endress is the daughter of an opera singer and received piano lessons. Since the 1950s she has been writing for the Jazz Podium , of which she has been editor-in-chief as Dieter Zimmerle's successor since 1989. She was also managing director with Frank Zimmerle. In 2018 she retired due to old age. There she conducted numerous interviews with jazz musicians, a selection of which she published as a book in 1980. Endress, for example, was on the jury of the Baden-Württemberg Jazz Prize .

She was also a jazz editor at Süddeutscher Rundfunk , where she supervised the programs “Jazz aktuell” and “Swingmobil - jazz music for children” and moderated jazz programs for Südwestfunk and HR .
