Gudrun Quenzel

Gudrun Andrea Quenzel (born 1971 ) is a sociologist and professor at the Vorarlberg University of Education in Austria . There she heads the Institute for Educational Sociology . Her research is on youth and socialization , educational poverty, health and educational inequality. Quenzel is a co-author of the Shell Youth Study .

Life

Quenzel studied cultural sciences in Lüneburg and did his doctorate in sociology at the University of Duisburg-Essen . In 2014, she completed her habilitation at the Faculty of Health Sciences at Bielefeld University . From the 2015 summer semester, she represented the Chair of Rehabilitation Sociology at the Faculty of Rehabilitation Sciences at TU Dortmund University . Quenzel has been Professor of Education and Society at the PH Vorarlberg since 2016 .

research

Quenzel received his doctorate in 2005 from Bielefeld University with a dissertation on European identity and cultural policy of the European Union . In 2014 she completed her habilitation with a paper on developmental tasks and health in adolescence . Quenzel has written around 70 magazine and book articles, a large number of which deal with health literacy and the health literacy of vulnerable groups. Together u. a. with Klaus Hurrelmann , Quenzel wrote the 16th (2010), 17th (2015) and 18th (2019) Shell Youth Study.

Quenzel is a member of the German Society for Sociology .
