Guglielmo Sanseverino († before November 24, 1378 ) was Archbishop of Salerno and Cardinal .

He belonged to the southern Italian noble family Sanseverino and received the ordination as subdeacon . Guglielmo's brother Ruggiero was on May 23, 1337 under Pope Benedict XII. transferred to the Diocese of Bari . On January 15, 1364, Guglielmo, who was living in Aix-en-Provence at the time, was appointed Archbishop of Salerno. Pope Urban VI. created him in the consistory of September 18, 1378 as cardinal priest with Sant'Eusebio as the titular church . During his tenure, he knew how to resolve patrimonial conflicts of interest, especially with the Benedictine monastery of Santa Maria di Montevergine , and to assert the interests of the Pope. A centuries-old conflict with the community of Olevano sul Tusciano over possessions that the Papal States had taken for itself could be settled satisfactorily for both sides. In return, the church was given the right to grind olives and always received two pounds of wax at San Matteo on May 6th.
