Guido Löhr

Guido Löhr (born July 3, 1966 in Bad Ems ) is a German extreme cyclist , speaker, blogger and author . He came to extreme cycling late and is known for his success at a very old age for athletes .

Sporting successes

In his extreme sports career, which lasted only four years, he took first place over the 720 kilometers in his Race Across America (RAAM) qualification in the Swiss Cycle Marathon in 2013 . In 2014 he finished the RAAM in 12th place and became the 15th German who managed to finish the Race Across America. In 2016 he was 5th at the Ultracycling World Championship held as part of the Glocknerman . In the same year, at the age of fifty, he also won the Race Around Ireland with a time of 106: 50 hours for the 2204 kilometer route. In 2017, in his second Race Across America participation, he was third overall and won the age group with the second fastest average speed ever achieved by a German participant at the RAAM.

Löhr has been publishing reports from his cycling tours and cycling marathons on various blogging platforms since 2007. Since 2009 under the domain steilberghoch.com.
