Guido Reibel

Guido Siegfried Reibel (born December 7, 1968 in Krefeld ) is a former German water polo player and coach.

Career

During his active time, Reibel played a total of 144 international matches for the German selection between 1988 and 1994. He was in the German squad at the 1994 World Cup in Rome and the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona .

In the club, Guido Reibel mainly played for SV Bayer Uerdingen 08 . He also played for ASC Duisburg and for Wasserfreunde Spandau 04 , with whom he became German champions in 1992. In one of the finals, Reibel scored seven goals and thus had a significant share in the Berlin title.

As a trainer, Reibel worked exclusively at SV Bayer. In 1997 he became German champion with the C-youth. He also coached the men's Bundesliga team, with which he played in the 2005/2006 European Cup. He ended his coaching career in 2006.

Guido Reibel has been chairman of the German water polo league since September 2015 . In this function he replaced the long-time treasurer Axel Becker , who had held this position on an interim basis for a year.

Private life

Reibel is married to his wife Wiebke, also a water polo player, and has a son and a daughter. The son, Ben Reibel , also plays water polo at SV Bayer Uerdingen 08 in the Bundesliga.
