Guillaume d'Abbes de Cabrebolles

Guillaume d'Abbes de Cabrebolles (also: Guillaume d'Abbes, baron de Cabreroles , born March 21, 1718 in Bédarieux , † October 1, 1802 in Saint-Martin-d'Aumes ) was a French lawyer, author and encyclopaedist in the Time of enlightenment .

Live and act

He came from an Occitan family of judges, his father was Guillaume Abbes, sgr de Courbeson (* 1679), his mother Elisabeth de Valery, both married since 1717.

Guillaume d'Abbes de Cabrebolles married on February 11, 1741 in Béziers Marie Jeanne Aphrodise de Gineste; they had a daughter, Marie Claire Aphrodise d'Abbes de Cabrebolles. He was admitted to the bar, avocat , in 1741 and was a member of the Montpellier Court of Auditors from 1749 to 1789 , correcteur à la chambre des comptes de Montpellier .

He was a member of the Académie de Béziers . For the Encyclopédie of the Enlightenmentists Denis Diderot and Jean-Baptiste le Rond d'Alembert , he wrote an article on the term physiology .
