Guillermo Verdecchia

Guillermo Verdecchia (born December 7, 1962 in Buenos Aires , Argentina ) is a Canadian theater writer and actor.

Verdecchia was born in Buenos Aires and came to Canada when she was two years old . He received a degree in Theater Studies from Ryerson University , Toronto , and a Masters in English and Theater Studies from the University of Guelph , Ontario .

Verdecchia's play Fronteras Americanas won the Governor General's Award for Fiction . He has also won the Floyd S. Chalmers Canadian Play Award four times, as well as various other awards as an actor and writer.

Verdecchia has taught at Algoma University and has been writer-in-residence at Memorial University of Newfoundland , the University of Guelph , and Ca 'Foscari in Venice. In the summer of 2014 he taught as a Picador visiting professor at the University of Leipzig .
