Guilty Simpson (real name: Byron Simpson ) is an American rapper from Detroit who releases his albums on Stones Throw Records .

Life

Guilty Simpson grew up in California, Alabama, and Detroit. He started rapping at the age of 18. His greatest influences are Kool G Rap , Big Daddy Kane , NWA and Scarface . Simpson became a member of the Almighty Dreadnaughtz formation and began working regularly with J Dilla . In 2006 he signed with Stones Throw Records .

After several appearances as a guest rapper on various publications, his first album Ode to the Ghetto came out in March 2008 . In May 2010 his second album was released, entitled OJ Simpson . As part of the trio Random Ax (with Black Milk and Sean Price ), he participated in their self-titled debut album, released in June 2011.
