Guiscardo Améndola

Guiscardo Améndola (born May 27, 1906 in Montevideo , Uruguay , † 1972 ) was a Uruguayan painter .

He studied with his father Pantaleón Améndola , a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts ( Accademia delle belle Arti ) in Naples. In 1946 he began his exhibitions in the Salón Nacional de Bellas Artes . Here he has received several awards. He created murals in public and private buildings and exhibited his works both at home and abroad. In August 1961 he took part in the major exhibition De Blanes a nuestros días , which took place on the occasion of the meeting of the Consejo Interamericano Económico y Social in Punta del Este . His numerous awards include, for example, prizes from the Comisión Nacional de Turismo and the Cámara de Senadores and the Premio Adquisición awarded to him in 1965 together with José Saint Romain at the 2nd Salón de Pintura Moderna . Améndola was married to Laura Verdié de Améndola .
