Gulam Noon, Baron Noon

Gulam Kaderbhoy Noon, Baron Noon MBE (born January 24, 1936 in Bombay , † October 27, 2015 in London ) was a British businessman of Indian origin and from 2011 until his death a member of the House of Lords for the Labor Party . He was descended from the Rajputs .

Life

Noon founded several food companies in the London district of Southall , referring to the Indian cuisine are specialized. The largest of these companies is Noon Products , founded in 1987 and acquired by the Kerry Group in 2005 . In 2006, he was in the Sunday Times conducted Rich List ranked 888 with an estimated fortune of 65 million pounds sterling out. A possible connection between the award of the title as Baron Noon and party donations and loans to the Labor Party was publicly discussed in the context of the Cash for Honors research. Noon survived the Mumbai attacks in 2008 .
