The Gunn Peak is a mountain in Snohomish County in the State of Washington . The mountain is part of the cascade chain . Gunn Peak is the highest point in the Wild Sky Wilderness . It was named after the local miner Amos Gunn, who founded the nearby town of Index and also named the nearby Mount Index .
