Gunnar Gerisch

Gunnar Gerisch (born December 24, 1943 in Dresden ) is a qualified sports teacher, pedagogue, psychologist, mental trainer for professional footballers and was a lecturer at the German Sport University Cologne (DSHS).

After studying sport, biology and educational science with first and second state examinations , he did his doctorate in psychology at the University of Cologne .

As an assistant to Hennes Weisweiler , he began teaching football training at the DSHS in 1969. In 1982 he took over the management of football training there as the successor to Gero Bisanz . He ended his teaching activity at the end of 2008.

From 1970 to 2007 he was a member of the DFB teaching staff for football teacher training. From 1999 to 2004 he was Christoph Daum's assistant coach at Bayer 04 Leverkusen , Austria Vienna (2002/2003 championship, cup) and Fenerbahçe Istanbul (2003/2004 championship), and since 2008 Daum's advisor at 1. FC Cologne .

Gerisch was spokesman for the DVS Football Commission and spokesman for the Youth Football Foundation.

After completing his teaching activity at the DSHS, he continues to work as a speaker at specialist conferences, in sports medicine training and in training for coaches. The focus is on personal development, leadership skills, stress management and team building.

He lives in Wuppertal.
