Gunnar Pentecost

Gunnar Pfingsten (born March 24, 1975 in Hanover ) is a former German shot putter .

Life

Gunnar Pfingsten became German youth champion in 1994 indoors and outdoors and came seventh at the Junior World Championships in Lisbon. In 1995 and 1997 he won the German Junior Championship and the silver medal at the U23 European Championships in Turku in 1997 .

In the adult field, Whitsun 1999 became German runner-up and qualified for the World Championships in Seville, where he reached eleventh place. In addition, he was German university champion in the hall and seventh at the Universiade that year .

Whitsun started for TuS Wunstorf , LG Steinhude, LG Steinhuder Meer, MTG 1899 Mannheim , LG Eintracht Frankfurt and TSV Bayer Leverkusen . After his competitive sports career, he took part in the Highland Games and became German champion in 2010 and 2014. He studied medicine at the University of Heidelberg and became a doctor, since 2013 a specialist in orthopedics and trauma surgery.
