Gunter Spraul

Gunter Leopold Spraul (* 1944 ) is a German teacher and historian.

He is a nephew of Leopold Schuhmacher, the 1st watch officer of the U 156 .

After graduating from high school in 1964, Spraul served four years in the armed forces and retired as a first lieutenant in the reserve. In Heidelberg he studied history, political science and Slavic studies. He completed his legal traineeship in Kaiserslautern. From 1975 he taught in Pirmasens at the Hugo-Ball-Gymnasium .

In 2005 he left the rest of Ernst Krieck's written estate to the Baden-Württemberg State Archives.
