The Kapaunberg is 105.4  m above sea level. NHN a striking elevation on the western edge of the Fläming in Saxony-Anhalt .

Location and surroundings

As the larger twin of the Kapaunenberg, it is located in the immediate vicinity, about 400 meters to the east from its high point at 102.1  m above sea level. NHN removed. District road 1214 runs between the two mountains from Schermen in the northwest to Pietzpuhl in the southeast .

The flat hilltop, which is mainly provided with agricultural land, is located two kilometers southeast of the center of the village of Schermen of the unitary community of Möser . For the most part located on the district of Schermen, its eastern foothills extend to the district of the neighboring village of Pietzpuhl, which also belongs to Möser and is located a good kilometer southeast of the high point.

history

In 1834 a windmill was built on the spot where the fire watch tower is today. At that time the mountain was still called Capphanberg . Since a triple murder in this mill or the associated house in 1869, the locals have called the place Mordmühle .
