Guntram Pflaum (born April 13, 1903 in Freystadt , † 1945 missing) was a German SS leader and head of the Lebensborn e. V. at the time of National Socialism .

Life

Pflaum, a commercial employee by profession, was a member of the Oberland Bund from 1922 to 1924 . He joined the NSDAP ( membership number 1.200.703) and SS (SS number 39.477) in 1932. At first, Pflaum belonged to the 1st SS standard in Munich and from there in 1935 moved to the " Reichsstelle für Kippenforschung " as staff leader . In addition, he was a member of the personal staff of the Reichsführer SS from 1938 and rose to SS-Standartenführer in April 1939 in the general SS .

On January 1, 1938, Pflaum was officially appointed managing director of Lebensborn e. V. appointed and held this position until the spring of 1940. The background for the replacement of this position by his successor Max Sollmann was the debt of the association, for which Pflaum was held responsible. He was then drafted into military service during the Second World War. In the late summer of 1941, after the start of the German-Soviet War, Pflaum was commissioned by Reichsführer SS Heinrich Himmler to form the “Sonderkommando Pflaum”. This detail, which the Higher SS and Police Leader was located mid Russia (HSSPF) had, amongst others, the task of German origin to have to track down children and in children's homes SS accommodate or German adoptive families.
