Gus Hutchison (born April 26, 1937 in Atlanta ) is a former American racing driver .
Career
The amateur racing driver won the US Formula B Championship in a Lotus 41B in 1967 . At the end of 1969 he acquired the Brabham BT26 , with which the Belgian Jacky Ickx had contested the entire Formula 1 season. With this vehicle he drove a complete SCCA Continental season in 1970 and thus also took part in the US Grand Prix . He had to give up the race prematurely because he lost the additional tank installed for the long distance.
In the early 1970s, Hutchison drove Formula 5000 races with Lola and March cars and then retired from racing.
