In the era of National Socialism , the high school became the 1938 Scharnhorst school after the Prussian military Gerhard von Scharnhorst renamed. During the Second World War, the school building was badly damaged by a bomb in 1943. The repairs to the war damage lasted until 1955, but it could be moved into again in the same year. Then in 1956 was named the Giant Mountain High School after the Prussian in the former province of Silesia in the eastern territories lying Giant Mountains . In 2010, the school was renamed the Gustav-Langenscheidt-Schule again after the language teacher Gustav Langenscheidt , the founder of the nearby Langenscheidt publishing house .
The Giant Mountains School became a model school in 1999 as a connected secondary and secondary school . For the school year 2010/2011, the school became an integrated secondary school with all-day operation as part of the Berlin school reform, and the school name was changed on this occasion.
