Gustav Berthold Volz

Gustav Berthold Volz (born November 4, 1871 in Halle (Saale) , † September 27, 1938 ) was a German historian.

Volz was a student of Albert Naudé .

From 1899 he published 22 volumes of Frederick the Great's Political Correspondence . He also published documents on the Count of Saint Germain and works and letters from Frederick the Great in German translation, with Friedrich von Oppeln-Bronikowski (1873–1936) often translating from French.

He had the title of professor and was Reich Archives Councilor in the Reich Archives in Berlin.

His son Hans Volz (1904–1978) was the editor of Martin Luther's works .
