Hans Volz
Hans Volz (born February 28, 1904 in Charlottenburg , † April 3, 1978 in Göttingen ) was a German historian , editor and Nazi propagandist .
Life
Hans Volz was born as the son of the historian Gustav Berthold Volz . From 1922 he studied history , church history and German at the University of Berlin . Gustav Roethe , Karl Holl and Erich Marcks were among his teachers . He received his doctorate in 1929 and the dissertation appeared in print the following year. As a result, Volz worked as a theologian in publishing and as co-editor of the local magazine Brandenburger Land .
During the time of National Socialism , Volz was involved with the NSDAP. Volz was a party speaker for the NSDAP and a member of the SA cultural group . He also published books as a propagandist for the NSDAP. The data on the history of the NSDAP come from him, which he had published in eleven revised editions in Nazi Germany . Then he was the author and editor of several propaganda works of the German Institute for Foreign Studies, which was part of the Ribbentrop Foreign Ministry . There he edited several volumes of the series of documents of German politics .
After the Third Reich he worked again as a church historian. From 1950 until his death he was a full-time employee at the commission for the publication of the works of Martin Luther. In addition, from 1954 to 1972 he held a teaching position at the University of Göttingen for “Text History of Reformation Literature”.
