Gustav Feckert
Gustav Heinrich Gottlob Feckert (born March 3, 1820 in Cottbus , † October 5, 1899 in Berlin ) was a German painter and lithographer .
Life
1836 Feckert was 16 years old student of Albert Rémy at the Academy in Berlin . In addition to the usual training there, Feckert soon specialized in lithographs . His first successes were copies of works by Carl Joseph Begas , Eduard Magnus , Franz Xaver Winterhalter and others. v. a.
Feckert also became known for his oil paintings ; including many portraits . After a few attempts in pastels and watercolors , Feckert returned to his domain - lithography.
In 1869 he was accepted as a member of the Prussian Academy of Arts in Berlin , Section for Fine Arts.
Gustav Feckert died in 1899 at the age of 79.
Feckert's artistic work in particular gave lithography a great boost in Germany. Exactly down to the details, his sheets radiate a perfection and yet do not lack liveliness.
