Gustav Hartmann (painter)

Gustav Hartmann (born June 28, 1913 in Vienna ; † July 25, 1988 there ) was an Austrian painter .

Hartmann learned the trade of master dyer and reached the engineering level. He was badly wounded in World War II. After recovering from his war injury, he began his artistic training with Gerda Matejka-Felden in the late 1950s .

Initially painting in oil, he later developed his painting technique with two-component epoxy resins and color pigments on Novopan panels . Gustav Hartmann created an abstract world of images with a multitude of color effects. From 1962 he exhibited his works in many places in Austria, but also in Italy and the Netherlands.
