Gustav Heim
Gustav F. Heim (born May 8, 1879 in Schleusingen , † October 30, 1933 in New York ) was a German trumpeter and cornet player.
life and work
Gustav home was in Germany in Schleusingen in Thuringia born and emigrated to the age of 25, the United States of. There he was first solo trumpeter of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra for two years before moving to the Philadelphia Orchestra for the 1905–1906 season. He then moved to Boston , where he played for the Boston Symphony Orchestra for 14 years .
He left this position after a strike in 1920 and then played briefly with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra , the New York Philharmonic Society , the Cleveland Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic Orchestra .
Gustav Heim became known for the development of the trumpet mouthpiece named after him, the Heim mouthpiece. This was used by many well-known trumpeters, such as Miles Davis .
