Gustav Hestermann

Gustav Hestermann (born April 15, 1894 in Petershagen , † October 17, 1935 in Bielefeld ) was a German lawyer and politician ( economic party ).

Life

After graduating from high school in Minden in 1912 , Hestermann studied law and economics at the universities of Freiburg im Breisgau , Berlin and Münster . During his studies in 1912 he became a member of the Teutonia Freiburg fraternity . He interrupted his studies and served as a soldier in World War I from 1914 to 1918 , initially as a lieutenant in Field Artillery Regiment No. 58 and from 1916 as a company commander in Field Artillery Regiment No. 278 . Until 1919 he was the leader of a voluntary border guard battery. He was awarded the Iron Cross First Class and the Knight's Cross of the Royal House Order of Hohenzollern .

Hestermann continued his law studies from 1919, passed the first state examination in law and completed his legal clerkship. After passing the second state examination in law, he worked from 1924 to 1926 as managing director and in-house counsel at the House and Landowners Association Westphalia-North. In 1927 he became a district judge in Bielefeld . He also wrote articles on financial and economic policy, housing and construction, as well as on settlement and agriculture.

In May 1928, Hestermann was elected to the Prussian state parliament for the Reich Party of the German Middle Classes (Economic Party), to which he belonged until 1932. In parliament he represented constituency 17 (Westphalia-North).

Hestermann died in 1935 and was buried in the Petershagen cemetery.
