Andreas Kadner

Andreas Kadner , also Andreas Cadner or Andreas Cadener d. J. (* before 1624 in Pirna ; † 1659 possibly in Löbau ) was a German organist , cantor and composer .

life and work

Kadner became organist at the St. Nikolai Church in Löbau ( Oberlausitz ) in 1624 , until he was dismissed in 1625 for improper behavior. 1630–1632 he was organist and town clerk in Friedland , in 1632 he was reappointed organist by the Löbau town council. From 1647 he was also cantor (i.e. Quartus) at the Latin school in Löbau. He became the successor to Emanuel Jerichow (cantor 1641–1647 and again 1651–1660) and later Tertius there . In 1659 he died in the office of Löbauer organist.

His works can be found in the holdings of the Löbau Council Library (today Saxon State Library - Dresden State and University Library , SLUB) under the shelf marks Mus.Löb. 8 and 70, 13, 42, 51, 54, 57, 65. Other works by him were recorded in the inventory of the Pirna Kantoreigesellschaft.
