Gustav Krüger (trade unionist)

Gustav Krüger (born October 27, 1885 in Herford , † April 18, 1967 ) was a German trade unionist and social democratic politician.

Life

Krüger initially trained in the hardware trade and later worked in the textile industry. Since 1906 he was a member of the SPD and the free trade union German Textile Workers' Association . Between 1919 and 1933 he was managing director of the association. At times he was also chairman of the ADGB in Bocholt . In addition, Krüger was a city councilor from 1919 to 1933.

At the beginning of the Nazi era , he lost his offices. He was arrested by the Gestapo . Since 1934 Krüger owned a hot ironer .

In 1945 and 1946 he was a member of the Bocholt magistrate and again a union manager. He was also chairman of the SPD in the city. Between 1945 and 1961 he was a city councilor, parliamentary group leader of the SPD and deputy mayor of Bocholt.

In 1946 he was a member of the Provincial Council for Westphalia and in 1946 and 1947 the appointed Landtag of North Rhine-Westphalia .
