Gustav Lehmann (botanist)

Gustav Lehmann (born June 12, 1853 in Brück , † March 7, 1928 in Templin ) was a German educator and botanist .

Born in Brandenburg, Gustav Lehmann was a teacher at the Joachimsthal Gymnasium from 1880 , and came with him to Templin in 1912, where he laid out a botanical garden (school garden) at the school (today's Lehmann Garden ) for teaching and experimental purposes .

Gustav Lehmann was awarded the title "Professor" on December 29, 1913 for his services.

The extremely knowledgeable, but very humble man, was very popular. His pupils called him lovingly but respectfully “Papa-Lehmann” or “Papalemann” for short.

Gustav Lehmann died on March 7, 1928 and was buried near the Botanical Garden. His grave is back today.
