Gustav Pohl

Gustav Pohl (born December 24, 1835 in Hamburg ; † July 23, 1907 there ) was a Hamburg businessman and politician.

Pohl was an independent businessman in the Gustav Pohl company . He was a member of the Directorate for Europe of the Home Feuerassekuranz Company and of The Equitable Life Assurance Society of the United States in New York City . From 1871 to 1883 he was a member of the Hamburg Parliament . He joined the Left Center faction . From 1882 to 1887 he worked as a tax assessor. 1891 Pohl was Herzog Ernst II. Saxe-Coburg and Gotha to Baron ennobled . Apparently the Hamburg Senate ignored Pohl's request to change the name.
