Gustav Riedlin
Gustav Riedlin (born January 2, 1861 , † 1949 ) was a German doctor, a pioneer of therapeutic fasting .
Gustav Riedlin worked as a general practitioner in Freiburg im Breisgau . He developed his interest in therapeutic fasting after he was allegedly made aware of the successes in alleviating and curing diseases by a fencing master who had lived in America for many years . Together with Otto Buchinger , who was treated by Riedlin in 1919 after a tonsillitis that did not completely heal, he is one of the pioneers of therapeutic fasting in Germany.
