Gustav Sauf

Gustav Sauf (born March 18, 1888 in Großlindenau ( Königsberg district ), † August 1, 1932 in Königsberg (Prussia) ) was a German trade unionist and politician ( KPD ).

Sauf worked in the railroad service from 1909 and became a railroad clerk as a shunter in 1920. In 1921 he left the service and became secretary of the German Railway Union in Königsberg.

Politically, he belonged to the KPD. For this and the district of Königsberg-Stadt he was a member of the provincial parliament of the province of East Prussia from 1925 to 1929 . From 1927 to 1929 he was also a member of the provincial committee. From January 26, 1928 to January 1930, he was a member of the Prussian State Council as the successor to Friedrich Seemann . Before that, he was a deputy member from February 1926 to January 26, 1928.

During the Reichstag election campaign in July 1932, he fell victim to a bomb attack, which was part of the violence in Königsberg on the night of August 1, 1932, and died. The Königsberger Volkszeitung reported that 15,000 people attended the funeral.
