Gustav von Peßler

Gustav Ritter von Peßler (born January 21, 1861 in Linz ; † September 21, 1900 at Gut Riedau ) was an Austrian lawyer and politician .

Life

Born as the son of the Reichsrat member Rudolf von Peßler , Gustav von Peßler studied law in Vienna and Graz after attending the Linz grammar school . During his studies in 1880 he became a member of the Upper Austrian Germanic fraternity in Vienna . In 1884 he was promoted to Dr. iur. PhD . After graduation, he worked in the office of his father and in 1891 as a lawyer in Schärding . In 1893 he became court and judge advocate in Linz. From 1894 to 1896 he was in charge of the Linz Monday Post . Together with Karl Beurle , he was one of the pioneers of the German nationalists in Upper Austria and a staunch opponent of the old liberals. He belonged to the German People's Party in Upper Austria and was at times a member of the party leadership. From 1897 to 1900 he was a member of the Reichsrat . In 1900 he was Linzer council . He was co-owner of the Riedau and Achleithen lordships and belonged to the Upper Austrian rural nobility.
