Gustave-Charles-Marie Mutel
Gustave-Charles-Marie Mutel MEP (born March 8, 1854 in Blumeray , France , † January 22, 1933 ) was a French bishop of the Paris Mission in Korea.
Life
He was ordained a priest of the Paris Mission on February 24, 1877. In 1881 he was served on the mission to Korea. In 1885 he became dean of the University of Paris . On September 2, 1890 Pope Leo XIII appointed him . as Vicar Apostolic of Korea and Titular Bishop of Milo . On September 21, 1890, the Archbishop of Paris , François-Marie-Benjamin Richard de la Vergne, with the assistance of Alphonse-Martin Larue , Bishop of Langres , and Casimir Vic CM, Vicar Apostolic of Nord Kiangsi , donated him episcopal ordination in the chapel of the Paris Mission . On April 8, Pope Pius X renamed his particular church the Vicar Apostolic of Seoul. On January 31, 1923 he moved to the titular diocese of Mopsuestia . On January 11, 1926, Pope Benedict XV appointed him . titular Archbishop of Ratiaria . He died on January 22, 1933.
