The estate at the Linde stood on Diakonissenweg in the Moitzfeld district of Bergisch Gladbach in the Rheinisch-Bergisches Kreis . Today there is only a remnant of the old complex with the residential building Diakonissenweg 19.

history

Moitzfeld consisted of three farms for more than three hundred years. One of them was the estate on the linden tree , called Mittelmoitzfeld . The Linde estate was first mentioned in a document in 1413. The last half-man was Johann Schmalzgrüber in 1661. Several half-timbered buildings were built around 1790.

After 1892 the property was divided into several individual objects. Further half-timbered buildings were erected at this time. The individual property Gut an der Linde became the property of the Bergische Diakonie Aprath on June 15, 1925 , which from October 1, 1925 ran a "home for daughters of better classes" who are difficult to raise. It was used for household and agricultural education.

After the Second World War , the Bensberg municipality's economic office moved into the building in 1945 . Two offices and an apartment for Mayor Schumacher were set up. Some of the girls were placed in Bornen near Kürten , which until then had only been set up for boys. On January 27, 1951, the Bornen boys' home moved to Moitzfeld. In the years 1963-64 extensions followed.

The Gut an der Linde was finally closed as an educational facility in 1973 after sexual abuse of the home residents by educators became known.

monument

The residential building Diakonissenweg 19 has been registered as monument no. 165 in the list of architectural monuments in Bergisch Gladbach since June 4, 2007 . The northern part of the property on the linden tree, across the street, was a later extension. A demolition permit was issued for this on January 23, 2013.
