Guten Tag is a song by the German band Wir sind Helden from 2002. It was first released in 2002 on an EP of the same name and a year later as the first single from their debut album Die Reklamation . It was composed by Jean-Michel Tourette, Judith Holofernes and Pola Roy, while the text was written by Holofernes.
Text and music
It's a pop-rock song. The text is to be understood as a criticism of commodification . Holofernes opposes the glittering world of consumption, which made her want or buy certain things: "My voice against a mobile phone, my fists against your nail care lotion ...". The respective body part is placed against the product that is used with it. In the refrain she opposes it: “Something is broken in the product - that's the complaint…” This line of text also includes the album title. In addition to the German-language original, the band also recorded the piece in French with the title La Réclamation .
