history

The station opened on October 14, 1966, along with the section between Atwater and Papineau . Guy-Concordia is part of the basic network of the Montreal Metro. The station is named after Rue Guy. This in turn is named after the landowner Étienne Guy, who represented Montreal in the Legislative Assembly of Lower Canada . In 1815 he donated a piece of land to the city so that the road could be built on it. For the first two decades, the station was simply called Guy . On January 1, 1988, it was given the addition Concordia to draw attention to Concordia University, which was founded in 1974.
