Guy Davis (comic artist)

Guy Davis (* 1966 ) is an American comic artist , best known for his work on the Sandman Mystery Theater and various Hellboy- related titles. He has also worked for various White Wolf, Inc. books and created his own series, The Nevermen & The Marquis .

In Michigan grew artist Guy Davis has sketched and painted, as long as he can remember. He first tried cartoons published in his hometown newspaper during high school. After graduating from college, he decided to move on to comics.

In 1984 he created the ironic space opera Quonto of the Star Corps for the small-run fan magazine Fantastic Fanzine . Quonto was forgotten, but the fan magazine later became Arrow Comics and resulted in work on the comic series The Realm . After a few years at Arrow Comics, his work on The Realm brought him to Caliber Press and his first (also legally) own series, the Harvey Award- nominated Baker Street . Baker Street took him to DC / Vertigo to work at the Sandman Mystery Theater with Matt Wagner and Steven T. Seagle . Since then he has worked for most of the major comic book publishers , creating illustrations for the White Wolf RPG series. Guy Mike is currently illustrating Mignola's ongoing BPRD series, The Zombies That Ate The World series for Métal hurlant and continuing his own series The Marquis for Oni Press .

Awards

He received an Eisner Award in 1997 for Starman and in 2004 for Unstable Molecules .
